OVERVIEW
Happy with the natural light in the space, our client wanted a more inviting lounging area and a sophisticated bedroom to enjoy in the evening hours.
DETAILS
DESIGN PROCESS
To start, we looked at using different heights to create visual interest in the space. Then we looked at a colour palette that would excite without overwhelming guests. Lastly, we brought unique and complementary textures into the space to add warmth.
BEFORE
Before the redesign, these spaces were empty, unwelcoming, cold and stark. There were no levels to catch the eye. As a result, both the bedroom and living room looked uninviting, dull and lacking sophistication. The homeowners wanted a refreshed and alluring space where they could relax or entertain guests after work.
Visual Levels
To add interest, elements were brought in at different heights. From the low marble coffee table atop the Atlas - Dark Grey / Beige rug.
The midpoint of the Reverse Medium Sideboard and the tops of the Cattelan Italia Anna Bar Stools; no piece sits at the same height.
Detached tables
Displaying the Ramsay Metallic Nesting Tables across the room from each other offered an unexpected pairing and amped up the cohesion in the space. This worked nicely with the chair & sofa combo dominating opposite sides of the seating area.
Sofa Pairing
The PHILEAS medium settee in its dusty grey blue is by far the star of the show. Instantly grabbing the eye, it provides a focal point for the space and pairs perfectly with the grey FELIX chair in its complementing profile.
Stand out bed
In the bedroom, the decor is kept minimal which allows the ARIEL upholstered bed to sing with the Calligaris Holly Armchair playing in soft harmony.
