Some of our Frequently asked questions on Home Interior Styling
-
Interior styling focuses on the finishing layer—furniture placement, soft furnishings, art and accessories that “dress” a space—whereas interior design tackles the bones of the room such as layouts, lighting plans or moving walls. A stylist refines the look and feel; a designer re-configures the space itself.
-
Absolutely. Great styling isn’t always about buying new: we start with a room audit, then propose strategic swaps—e.g. re-dressing a sofa with UK-sourced textiles, adding statement lighting—so you keep what you love and only invest where it adds real impact.
-
High-impact areas—living rooms, open-plan kitchens, principal bedrooms and entrance halls—deliver the greatest visual payoff and resale uplift. We also style nurseries, home offices and outdoor living zones.
-
Yes. Our standard Virtual Interior Styling packages deliver concepts, mood-boards and shoppable lists online for one transparent, fixed fee. If you’d like hands-on help, you can bolt on an On-Site Styling Day: the same Akiva designer you’ve been working with will visit your home, install key pieces, arrange accessories and finesse every room. On-site days are quoted individually—distance from our studio and the number of rooms determine the rate—but most clients budget £450–£950 per day plus travel.
Case Study - Egerton Country Home, Kent Full-House Interior-Styling by Jess
Jess, our lead stylist with a decade of residential-design experience, was asked to breathe character into a newly purchased four-bed country home in Egerton, Kent.
The brief: keep the rooms calm and neutral enough for everyday living, yet add confident colour moments that felt curated, not staged.
Jess anchored every space in a warm Greige envelope, then layered earthy accents: forest-green velvet in the principal suite, teal-and-ochre scallops in the loft twin room and a statement burnt-orange armchair in the sitting room. Natural textures, rattan, oak and grass cloth soften the lines of the existing joinery and add tactile depth, while sculptural ceramics and botanical artwork pull the whole scheme together.
